During our last Elluminate session, we discussed teacher disposition and what it could mean. We came up with many interpretations and talked about different cases in which it has affected the classroom climate. I would like to personally reflect on my own teacher disposition.
I feel as though I am still growing into my teacher disposition because I seem to behave the same way I do normally while in the classroom. Growth is something that has been treating me well thus far. Initially I was afraid of how I would be able to handle misbehaving students and after several instances of having to do so, I find I can do so well. That fear has diminished significantly to where it's not something that worries me like it used to even though I know it may be a difficulty in the future.
Hopefully other future teacher fears will fade as I bump into them. It seems more and more pop up as others fade.
Still, I can say that I am disposed to being open-minded and a stickler for mutual respect within the classroom. I try to exemplify, mandate, and teach respect within the classroom as much as I can. Though I cannot analyze my own teacher disposition fully, I am aware that my goal is to have a respectful disposition.
